Savannah - Let's Walk About It

Details

Beginning in Oglethorpe Square, this 90-minute Walk About It Tour, takes you through many of the squares of Historic Savannah Georgia. We will explore over 285 years of history, as you discover how and why this beautiful city first began in 1733. Why was the city laid out in a grid system consisting of 24 squares? See the house where Union General William Tecumseh Sherman stayed when he overtook Savannah. Take your picture at the very spot Forrest Gump sat on the bench with his box of chocolates. Why is Savannah Georgia the most Haunted City in the Nation? What is City Market?
Learn about all these things and more, including Pirates, the Waving Girl, the Hanging Square, the Siege of Savannah, Colonial Park Cemetery where over 9,000 are buried, Forsyth Park and more. We will also share a few stories and folklores passed down over time. Want Ghosts? We've got them too!

Off the Beaten Path

You've been to Savannah before, and you have done other walking tours, but this time you want something different, something off the beaten path, where few will wander. Let's go to Colonial Savannah, where we will find homes built in the late 1700's. Very few homes remain after the Great Fires that left Savannah in ashes.
